NEW ORLEANS — Nearly 200 current and former FEMA employees signed a public letter criticizing the Trump administration's disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
The "Katrina Declaration" comes just days before the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, one of the deadliest and costliest natural disasters in U.S. history.
According to CBS News, the employees argued that the administration had undone years of progress made since Hurricane Katrina at the agency.
Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz told CNN that "what's going on at FEMA is a disaster within a disaster."
