Considering the dominant, historic manner with which the Bixby football program has handled its business over the last 11 seasons — and especially during a streak of seven consecutive championship seasons — this statistic is striking.

In their last 96 minutes of competition with Owasso, the Bixby Spartans had the lead for only three minutes and 21 seconds.

That stat becomes doubly striking when you’re reminded of the outcomes of two Bixby-Owasso games in 2022 and two more in 2023: Bixby won each time, outscoring the Rams by a combined total of 166 points.
