LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The Nye County Sheriff says Petrack Park in Pahrump is trying out new hours to help combat crime in the area.

Sheriff McGill says Nye County commissioners passed a resolution to close the park between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. for the next three months. He says he’s worried about how the new hours will be enforced.

“I did raise concern as to how this resolution would be enforced,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook. “There is currently no law or ordinance that makes it possible for my office to take enforcement action on this issue.”

McGill says there is no law or ordinance in place, but says the sheriff’s office will enforce the hours.

“This is a simple issue, pass a law, which is fair and constitutional and we will enforce it,” NCSO said.
