GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — The Grant County Health District (GCHD) says there's a rise in COVID-19 cases in Grant County.
GCHD says there was a "significant outbreak in a local long-term care facility," which affected more than 45 staff and residents. Two people died from COVID-19, and one death is still being investigated.
Officials say people aged 6-23 months and those over 65 should get an updated COVID-19 vaccine.
“Our recent outbreak is a painful reminder that COVID-19 can still have a devastating impact, especially for older adults and people with underlying health conditions”, says Dr. Alexander Brzezny, Grant County Health Officer. “Our hearts are with the families and friends grieving the loss of their loved ones who passed away during this outbreak.”
