Mercedes-AMG, with help from its Formula 1 driver George Russell , has shattered a number of electric vehicle world records as the Concept AMG GT XX was piloted on Italy's Nardo test track.
During this behemoth test run, the Concept AMG GT XX, seen at Silverstone earlier this year, shattered a number of long-distance records. For one, it covered 5479 kilometres (3404 miles) in just 24 hours as Mercedes fought for its 'around the world in eight days' challenge, beating the previous record of 3961km.
To prove the potential of its technology, two identical models travelled a total of 40,075km (24,901 miles) in seven days, 13 hours, 24 minutes and seven seconds. While the car stopped 40 times for ultra-fast charging throughout the record attempt, it maintained a speed of 300km/h (186mph)
