Only three times in Edmonton history have there been six straight days with temperatures above 30 C in any month —including 2021 and 2024 — with both streaks in July.
“This will be the first time we’ve seen (six days straight above 30) in August. It will be interesting to see if we do get all of those days at 30, it looks like it’s trending that way,” said Christy Climenhaga, a scientist with Environment and Climate Change Canada.
