MANCHESTER, N.H. —

If a sit-down breakfast doesn't fit into your morning routine, smoothies can be a quick and healthy option for people on the go.

Blending fruits and vegetables can pack nutrient-rich produce and fiber into one cup.

"Smoothies contain whole fruit, which provides nutrients and fiber. It's also easy to add vegetables like carrots or leafy greens, and protein sources like nonfat yogurt, nut butters, nuts and seeds, which will make it more filling," said Amy Keating, of Consumer Reports.

The right blender is key for creating a smooth, easy-to-drink breakfast, according to Consumer Reports.

"You want something that's going to deliver a smooth, consistent texture because there's nothing worse than a lumpy drink or a lumpy smoothie," said Tyler Ivester, of Consumer Reports.
