LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Lexington-Fayette County Council is considering limiting rooster ownership, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader .

An ordinance approved by the council Tuesday night would, if passed, limit households in urban service areas to one rooster.

It would boost fines for those who keep restricted animals—including hogs, pigs and goats—from $5 per animal per day to $100 per animal per day.

Anyone with more than one would face increased fines.

The council is expected to vote on the ordinance next month.
