A North Carolina company is recalling two lots of its dog and cat food because they might be contaminated, the USDA reported.

Viva Raw, of Charlotte, said on Aug. 25 it is recalling its Viva Ground Beef for Dogs, Viva Beef & Turkey for Puppies, Viva Ground Chicken for Dogs, Viva Chunked Chicken for Dogs, Viva Chicken for Cats and Viva Pure Chicken because they could be contaminated with salmonella and listeria.

The recall is for Lots 21495 and 21975. The food was distributed between July 2 and Aug. 21 to consumers nationwide and to retailers in New York, Illinois, South Carolina, Florida, Kansas, California, and Arizona.

The food was distributed in frozen 1 lb. bricks in clear vacuum packaging, with the lot number printed on the top.
