BEMIDJI – The Jacks have played a lot of tennis in three days, but they saved their best matches for last.
The Bemidji High School girls tennis team knocked off Grand Rapids 7-0 Wednesday morning, then defeated East Grand Forks in the afternoon 5-2 in its home triangular.
“We saw a little bit of everything,” head coach Kyle Fodness said. “I thought both Grand Rapids and EGF played really scrappy, tough tennis and made a lot of players who got wins really work for them.”
Bailey Rupp and Lilly Caron finished the day with a 2-0 record in singles. Rupp started at No. 2 singles against Grand Rapids, winning both sets 6-1. Caron won 6-0 and 6-2, but switched places with Rupp to play No. 2 singles against EGF. Both won their respective matches 6-3, 6-0.
“They're gonna flip spots sometimes, th
