GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) - The Mesa County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Wednesday that a deputy tied to the ICE arrest of Carolina Dias-Goncalves has resigned.
The 19-year-old Utah woman was pulled over by Deputy Alexander Zwinck on June 5th, at a traffic stop along I-70 near Fruita.
Zwinck is alleged to have unlawfully shared her information with ICE in a group chat -- leading to her detainment and subsequent fifteen days spent in a detention center in Aurora. Following an investigation by Mesa County, Zwinck received 3 weeks of unpaid administrative leave, and was reassigned to patrol. WesternSlopeNow has now learned he'll be resigning altogether.
