FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) -- A large weather system will bring widespread rain across the entire weather coverage area with some areas picking up heavy rain totals Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the counties shaded in green, starting early Thursday morning lasting until Thursday afternoon. Expected rain totals will range from 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possibly reaching over 5 inches.
The Weather Prediction Center (WPC) is in agreement showing the bullseye of the heaviest rain amount running right through the northern portion of our weather coverage area. The WPC forecast has steadily increased the precipitation totals over the last several days as more computer model information comes into agreement with the heavy rain potential.
