COLUMBIA, S.C. — A local police chief was involved in a car accident Wednesday evening.
According to Ashley Hunter, a spokesperson for the town, she said that South Congaree Police chief Steve Jonas was involved in a two car accident in Columbia.
The chief and occupants from the other vehicle were transported for a medical evaluation at a local hospital.
No word on anyone's condition.
The investigation is being conducted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the chief is on administrative leave.
