(QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- “The Waterfront,” a Netflix show made in North Carolina, will not be returning for more episodes.
Netflix canceled the crime drama this week after just one season.
The series was produced by Kevin Williamson, a North Carolina native who also created the hit ‘90s series “Dawson's Creek.” The show stars Holt McCallany and Melissa Benoist and featured Topher Grace.
No reason was given for the cancellation, although the series did spend five weeks on Netflix's top 10.
“The Waterfront” was filmed in and around Wilmington. Producers received $15 million from the state's film grant program.
