Spartanburg City Council has approved a $70 million development agreement to transform a portion of the former Beaumont Mill site on North Pine Street into a multi-family apartment complex.

Spartanburg City Manager Chris Story said the project will include 247 apartments and 28 workforce units. Additionally, the project will help connect the Dan Trail network.
The decision was made during Monday's city council meeting, which also addressed the next steps for the clock tower .
