A pair of late-inning home runs allowed the visiting St. Paul Saints to come away with a 3-1 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens on Wednesday at Fifth Third Field.

Toledo (71-57) had taken the lead 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, but St. Paul (57-69) responded in the next half inning.

Carson McCusker led off the top of the eighth with a double and a two-run home run by Jose Miranda put the Saints on top, 2-1. Then in the ninth, a one-out solo shot from DaShawn Keirsey, Jr., made it 3-1.

Earlier in the game, Toledo loaded the bases in the third and fifth innings, failing to score each time.

The Mud Hens’ run in the seventh came after Gage Workman led off with a single and scored when the next batter, Hao-Yu Lee, drilled a double to left field.
