Dawn Staley confirmed she interviewed for the Knicks head coaching job.

Would Dawn Staley have left South Carolina for the New York Knicks if the NBA franchise decided to make her the successor to Tom Thibodeau instead of Mike Brown?

During an appearance on the "Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston" podcast, the three-time national championship coach said the answer would have been yes.

"I interviewed for the Knicks. I did. It was the same interview that everyone else was in their candidate pool (for)," Staley told Parker and Boston. "... If the Knicks would have offered me the job, I would have had to do it. Not just for me but for women, for just to break open that. And it is the New York Knicks ."
