CONNECTICUT, USA — Connecticut leaders issued statements on the Minneapolis Catholic school shooting Wednesday, condemning the violence and mourning the lives lost.
According to the Associated Press, authorities identified Robin Westman, 23, as the person who shot through the windows of the Annunciation Catholic School at children celebrating Mass during their first week of school. Two children, ages eight and 10, were killed, and 17 people were hurt, including 14 other kids.
Police said Westman, who was armed with a rifle, shotgun and pistol, was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the AP reported. The local police chief reportedly said that Westman is believed to have acted alone.
