TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Florida A&M University Marching 100 is once again getting national attention on one of sport’s biggest stages.

FAMU’s marching band performed at the U.S. Open on Wednesday evening during the event’s HBCU celebration.

The performance saluted Althea Gibson’s achievements as the first Black athlete to win a grand slam title.

Ahead of the tribute performance, the Marching 100 also performed in an HBCU yard experience, showing the culture and impact of Black colleges.
