FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — After the active shooter response on the University of Arkansas campus on August 25th, many students have felt anxious about returning to the classroom the next day.
The university released a statement including mental health resources at Pat Walker Health Center for students struggling after the incident.
Grad student at the university, Troy Dorsey, said, regardless of whether it was fake or not, the fear was still real.
"It definitely, brings an aspect of fear. Even though it ended up being a hoax that doesn't really change much," Dorsey said.
Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center at NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Meagan Allen, said the anxiety of returning to class is valid response.
