BRAINERD — It was a good day for the Brainerd Warriors Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Eight different Warriors found the back of the net in a 12-0 Central Lakes Conference win over the Fergus Falls Otters at Adamson Field.
The win marked the first of the season for the Warriors after a season-opening loss to Rogers Saturday, Aug. 23.
“The loss to Rogers I felt like we played well in that game,” Warriors’ head coach Grant Gmeinder said. “The girls were itching to play and I thought we came out fast and scored early.”
Brainerd stepped on the gas early when senior captain Lilly DeRoiser scored three minutes in. She added her second goal nine minutes in.
Sophomore Macy Castle scored the next two goals as the Warriors led 4-0 halfway through the first half. DeRosier and Castle would finish with first
