LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - On Wednesday, a judge sentenced a Longview man to a year in the Gregg County Jail for assault-family violence.
Joseph Bebout West, Jr., 61, had a jury trial on Wednesday. The jury heard testimony that West assaulted his girlfriend on March 17, 2024. He threw his girlfriend against a bed frame in their home, and then he held her down and placed a pillow over her face, according to the criminal district attorney’s office.
She took the stand on Wednesday and testified about the event and the violent nature of their relationship.
