(WKBN) -- The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County is changing hours at two branches.

It's part of a security review following an incident last month involving a person with a sword.

Starting Sept. 2, the Newport Branch will close at 5:30 p.m. most days, with later hours on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Michael Kusalaba Branch will keep its extended hours introduced earlier this month. They're Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Library leaders say the changes are temporary to make sure more staff are on hand during busy hours.
