CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- Trainers bring their horses from all over to compete at the Canfield Fair's Pig Iron Derby -- something that has been going on nearly as long as the fair itself.

First News was there to see how much the horses could pull.

Brandon Porter came from Butler, Pennsylvania, to enter his horses in the Pig Iron Derby. He came in second place in years past and was hoping to place again Wednesday.

"My grandfather did it whenever I was a kid, and it's in my blood. I just started doing it when I was old enough to do it and still doing it today," Porter said.

His horses weigh 1,900 pounds apiece, and it takes a lot of work to get them ready for the big day.
