Environmental campaigners have voiced concerns over an active travel route linking Barassie to Dundonald.
Opponents to the scheme warned it will wreck the natural habitat and cause a danger to a nearby wildlife site.
The project is part of a £26m handout to Scottish local authorities via the Scottish Government’s Active Travel Infrastructure Fund.
However, objections have been raised in the wake of a planning application seeking permission for the formation of the cycle path, landscaping and “associated works” on land at the A759 from the Auchingate Interchange to the B730 Drybridge Road at Dundonald.
