The Lethbridge Hurricanes opens their four-day training camp today with a good mixture of younger and older players that will perhaps make the roster as impact pieces this season.
“It’s a funny year with training camp with NCAA changes,” said Matt Anholt, Canes head coach.
“Now we can have free agents … that are coming to make the team as older guys. We (have) got some good older guys that normally would be playing a second, or third or fourth year in Junior ‘A’ and instead they decided to come here and try their luck with the Western League.”
There will be rookie camp players who are in same situation as the incoming older guys.
“We (have) got lots of young guys,” said Anholt.
“We’re really excited about our 2009 group that we’re expecting
