BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — A reported electrical fire forced a dozen homes to evacuate on Wednesday night in a remote Buckeye neighborhood.
It happened in the Tartesso Community near Thomas Road and about a mile west of Sun Valley Parkway .
The Buckeye Fire Medical Rescue Department confirmed 12 houses were evacuated but it’s unclear how many people were impacted.
Investigators said a small fire started in an underground electric vault, which provides power at a water pump station for the neighborhood.
Buckeye Water is heading to the community to repair the well site so people don’t lose water.
Police say they’ve closed roads in the area.
No word when people can go back to their homes.
