INDIANAPOLIS — The Martindale Brightwood neighborhood celebrated its new, five-year Quality of Life plan Wednesday with a block party, parade, music and food.

Organizers say it's a plan that embraces the historic neighborhood's past while looking forward to the future.

"Our neighborhood has undergone significant changes over the past decade," said Immanuel Ivey, Edna Martin Christian Center executive director. "We aim to have our new and old neighbors engage with each other, learn about Martindale Brightwood's rich history and appreciate the amazing opportunities available today."
