DECATUR COUNTY, Indiana — A Greensburg man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday in Decatur County.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on County Road 400 East of County Road 300 North, northeast of Greensburg.

According to Indiana State Police, two Decatur County sheriff's deputies saw a car with a man inside who they believed to be connected to a criminal investigation in Ripley County. A Greensburg police officer joined to assist the deputies.

Officers stopped the car, which was occupied by two men and a woman. Officers asked them to exit the car one person at a time. According to a spokesperson, the person identified as the suspect came out of the car armed with a handgun and pointed it toward officers. The officers then fired their guns, causing the man to drop to ground.
