TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Following the arrest of two Cienega High School students last Friday for allegedly bringing a gun on campus, the Vail Unified School District and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are speaking on school safety.

Both officials under,tand why the issue of metal detectors would come up, considering that this is now the second incident to happen at a Vail school.

Back in December, a student at Corona Foothills Middle allegedly brought a loaded gun to campus . In that incident, a fellow student warned the principal, and she was able to isolate the armed student without incident.

It was essentially the same story at Cienega on Aug. 22.
