Philadelphia Water Department increasing rates September 1

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — The Philadelphia Water Department says rates will increase by 11% starting September 1st.

The Water Department says the hike is designed to address rising costs in things like labor, materials and equipment.

The agency also says these rates will continue to provide customers with access to high-quality water and critical infrastructure repairs.
