A hearing has been called to consider whether a new supermarket in Huntingdon can have a 24 hour alcohol licence, after concerns were raised about antisocial behaviour. The new licence is proposed for The Food Warehouse, which is due to open in Stukeley Road Retail Park in Huntingdon.
The Food Warehouse is part of the Iceland Foods Group. Iceland has applied to Huntingdonshire District Council for a licence to sell alcohol at the new supermarket between midnight and 11.59pm from Monday to Sunday.
The company said it had suggested a number of “appropriate and proportional” conditions to manage the potential impact of the licence. These included the shop being fitted with CCTV, and running a proof of age scheme for anyone trying to buy alcohol.
