STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It may feel more like summer a lot this September, according to forecasters.
The latest monthly temperature outlook by the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center reveals that the month will predominantly feature above-average temperatures.
According to the outlook released on Aug. 21, there is a 50% to 60% probability that temperatures will “likely” be above average across most of New York state, including New York City.
The exception to those odds is areas west of Central New York. Those areas only have a 40% to 50% probability of temperatures generally exceeding average figures.
So does this mean we’ll be seeing recurring heat waves in September? That remains to be seen.
