EAST ST. LOUIS — A simple phrase has been emblazoned on East St. Louis' football helmets the past few seasons.
"All gas, no brakes."
After returning to the pinnacle of the mountain last year with a dominant run to the program's 11th state championship, the fire was lit for even greater challenges.
"We're coming for everything, that's how I truly feel," East St. Louis senior offensive lineman Terrell Berryhill Jr. said. "We want to go 14-0. We want to win a state championship, but we're looking for national things. That's why we're playing the guys we have on the schedule."
East St. Louis, no stranger to tackling some of the nation's best opponents, scheduled some of the toughest competition it could find this season.
