Nationwide Building Society is introducing a new feature for its mobile app that promises to improve the user experience. The group provided an update about the key change after a customer reached out to the provider with a question about the app. They were having difficulties using the app as they couldn't view the screen adequately.

They asked whether the dark background in the application is optional as it was "too dark for my eyes". In an announcement on August 22, Nationwide confirmed it had launched a dark mode feature for the app.

The group said at the time: "We've introduced dark mode. Now, if you use dark mode on your device, the colour scheme of our banking app will change to match.
