If you ask those closest to attorney Solomon Lee Kohrman , known by many as S. Lee, the kind of person he was, many would recall him as someone who enjoyed a lifetime of dedicated service, philanthropy and advocacy for the Jewish community.

Kohrman died on Aug. 20, 2025 at his home in Beachwood. He was 97.

Born in Cleveland to Max and Sylvia Kohrman on Sept. 2, 1927, Kohrman graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1945, Harvard College in Cambridge, Mass., in 1949 and Harvard Law School in 1953 before beginning his career as a lawyer and leader whose reach extended far beyond the Cleveland area.
