Regional council is urging the Waterloo Region Health Network to present its initial local share plan and overall project cost for the new regional hospital as soon as possible.
“My sense is that this is a very large number and that as we look at the new hospital and we look at other satellite campuses of the health-care system, it will be done in a phased approach,” regional Chair Karen Redman said Wednesday.
Redman introduced a motion Wednesday asking the health network to report back on the impacts and life-cycle benefits of the new hospital, along with cost impacts on key services such as paramedics, public health, transit and water.
