ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An ex-NFL player was arrested on charges “related to an extensive financial fraud scheme,” according to Roswell police.

Police said Darryl “Buster” Skrine was arrested Wednesday at a home in Roswell. Skrine allegedly targeted women on dating apps, lying about financial troubles, asking the women for money and promising to repay them from his NFL annuity.

Skrine targeted at least three women, using around $300,000 “to support his lavish lifestyle, including financing Airbnb’s, travel, and gift cards,” according to police.

He was arrested and charged with deposit account fraud, identity fraud, financial transaction card fraud, theft by taking, and criminal attempt to commit theft.
