SEPTEMBER 1 Local rally for worker power and justice on Sept. 1

On Labor Day, local organizations will gather at Central Square, 2910 S. Croatan Highway in Nags Head, to join the national “Workers Over Billionaires” protest. The event will be held Monday, Sept. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Organizers say the protest is about more than wages and workplace rights — it’s about defending democracy and human dignity. Demonstrators will call for racial justice, immigrant rights, LGBTQIA+ equality, gender justice, investment in public services, and protection of human rights across the United States and the world.
