CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Cedar Falls Public Safety personnel responded to a report of a car partially submerged in South Prairie Lake on August 28. A citizen reported seeing a person inside the vehicle, prompting the dispatch around 6:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, responders found the vehicle on the north side of the lake near the boat ramp. The driver had already exited the car and was helped to the shore. No other occupants were found in the vehicle. The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The vehicle was partially submerged, with the cabin half-filled with water. Cedar Falls Public Safety was assisted by MercyOne Paramedics, Rasmussen Towing, and the Black Hawk County Consolidated Communication Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
