With yet another school year just around the corner, Joni Cutler is once again inviting community-minded volunteers to jump on board a program that has helped feed thousands of lo-cal school children for the past five years.

More than 70 volunteers are already signed up for this year’s Penticton Breakfast Club program, but more are needed and welcome as the new school year officially begins Tuesday.

This year’s Breakfast Club will feed children from four local schools, including West Bench Elementary, Queen’s Park Elementary, Columbia Elementary and Connect Ed.

The Penticton Breakfast Program is expected to feed close to 1,000 students per week this coming school year -- up from 900 just last year.

“Last year, we had 35 to 40 volunteers step up through the year and we made it through,”
