PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Colin Hatfield was outstanding in Prestonsburg’s season opener against Betsy Layne.

The Blackcat’s broke their program record for points scored in a season opener in their 69-46 win over the Bobcats.

The previous record of 68 points was set in the 2007 season opener, also against Betsy Layne.

Hatfield tallied 229 rushing yards, five touchdowns and 32 total points.

“The line was just opening up holes, and I was just finding them and I didn’t get touched my first two touchdowns.” Hatfield said. “I just thank my offensive line and it was just the best game that I have played in my life.”

Hatfield is replacing two rushers who left their mark on the program.

Dalton Elliott and Alex Harris combined for more than 2,700 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2024.
