NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department arrested a man Wednesday in connection with fentanyl trafficking.

Varzje Luther Bullock, 33, is charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to jail records.

Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near East Montague Avenue and Park Circle at 4:15 p.m. After the vehicle stopped at Buist Avenue and Old Park Road, the driver later told officers that there was a gun inside the vehicle.

Officers then detected a marijuana odor coming from inside the vehicle and observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. They located a gun between the driver’s seat and center console and after doing a subsequent search in the vehicle, they also discovered approximatel
