BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a Beaufort County man with dog fighting and ill treatment of animals on Tuesday.

Justinn Benjamin Moultrie, 30, was charged with nine counts of animal fighting and nine counts of ill treatment of animals, SLED spokesperson Renée Wunderlich said.

The charges stem from Aug. 11, when the SLED Dogfighting Unit found nine adult dogs and one puppy when executing a search warrant after having information that dogs on the property were being used for dogfighting. Multiple items associated with dog fighting were also found at the property.
