LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Lubbock Independent School District on Thursday announced the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a 13% salary increase for all certified full-time teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.

The new teacher's starting pay will be $50,900. Lubbock ISD said this was the largest single-year increase for school district teachers.

"The pay raise was made possible in part by additional state funding coming out of the 89th Texas Legislature’s regular/special session earlier this year," Lubbock ISD said.

The board also approved a 3% raise for all other district staff. Instructional support staff saw pay ranges increase by 14%, with the new starting wage for support staff at $13.50 an hour.
