A Glaswegian brewery is raising a glass to equality as supermarket chain Lidl unveils Scotland’s first gender-balanced beer aisle - with half of its craft beers now brewed by women or female-owned breweries.

Among them is Glasgow-based WEST, where Founder Petra Wetzel has led the way, with two of her brewery’s creations - Velo Lemon Radler and Wild WEST Unfiltered Lager - featured in the new line-up.

Petra will be joining top brewers from around Scotland including Niki Charleston of Innis & Gunn, which has taprooms in Glasgow, and Fiona MacEachern of Loch Lomond.

Rolling out across 112 Scottish stores - including stores throughout Glasgow - from Thursday 28th August, the initiative reflects an industry in transformation while paying tribute to brewing’s roots.
