MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Police are searching for a man who allegedly scams renters out of thousands of dollars with fake apartment listings in Manhattan, according to officials.

Nicholas Fuelling, 43, is wanted for allegedly stealing a $6,400 deposit for a fake apartment in Hell's Kitchen on Aug. 12, according to an NYPD flyer and Councilman Erik Bottcher.

Fuelling has allegedly scammed multiple people looking for apartments in the neighborhood, according to Bottcher's Instagram post.

"HK Apartment Scammer: Nicholas Fuelling is wanted by the NYPD for scamming multiple people with fake apartment listings in Hell’s Kitchen and stealing their rent deposits," he said in the social media post.

It was unclear if other incidents were reported to the NYPD.
