PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — The Portage County Sheriff’s Office says deputies are seeing a rise in fentanyl mixed with Xylazine, a drug combination that can block the effects of Narcan.

According to a Facebook post, the Portage Aggressive Crime Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) Unit has conducted recent interdiction efforts along Interstate 76 and Interstate 80 (Ohio Turnpike). Deputies reported the following seizures:

37 grams of fentanyl/Xylazine

Over 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine

105 ecstasy pills

Over 1 pound of cocaine

120 bottles of promethazine

48 pounds of marijuana

Nearly 1 pound of khat

$22,257 in drug proceeds

4 firearms from prohibited individuals

The sheriff’s office said one recent seizure was directly linked to a fatal overdose in a neighboring county.
