MACON, Ga. — A woman was found on the side of Rocky Creek Road Thursday after an apparent hit and run, according to Bibb County Deputy Coroner LuAnn Stone.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the 23-year-old woman was found in the 2200 block of Rocky Creek Road near Robinhood Road.

Stone said the woman has been identified as Ronni Abbott. Her family has been notified.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says that they responded to Rocky Creek Road following up on a missing persons case.

According to Stone, it appears the woman was hit by a vehicle, which then drove off. The victim would die from their injuries.

The sheriff's office says that the name of the victim will be released when the family has been notified.
