Angry at cat, intoxicated man fires shots in downtown apartment

MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Police Department arrested a man who shot a round through his cat tower in a downtown Madison apartment.

Police received a call Wednesday after 2 p.m. to the 300 block of W Dayton for a weapons offense.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a man who was intoxicated in his apartment. They learned that the man became frustrated with his cat and shot a round through the cat tower.

No one in the neighboring apartment was injured.

Officers seized the man's gun and arrested him for second-degree reckless endangering safety and going armed while intoxicated.
